"A rising tide lifts all boats" - John F Kennedy, 1962 An ebbing tide lowers all boats We are in a time of ebbing tide. You are most likely anticipating that also.

Among the many indicators that our economy is in trouble, a key one is the Consumer Confidence Index, which was recently at its lowest point ever.
If our economy is facing troubled times, then you - and of course me, us, them - by the principle of ebbing tides lowers all boats - are also facing troubled times.
One implication of that is your business is going to be negatively impacted. All boats and businesses will tend to be negatively impacted.
But ... some boats and businesses, those which are going into this period in better condition to withstand it, and those which will be able to navigate through it better than most others, will be less negatively impacted than the others.
Since your current condition in going into this period is already determined (we are today in the condition we are today), the key to your outcomes over the next span of time is going to depend on your ability to navigate - your ability to work with what you have in the environmental conditions that will apply.
In an ebbing tide, some boats are lowered more/less than others - depending on their crew's strengths and weaknesses and what they do with them. Just as in a rising tide, some boats are lifted less/more than others - depending on what the crews have to work with and what they do with what they have to work with.
